Tsubota Pearl
ounded in Tokyo in 1952, Tsubota Pearl makes refillable lighters and small metal goods shaped by Japanese craft, compact design, and long-term utility. The name Pearl refers to Japan’s first cultured pearl, a nod to small objects made with care, precision, and the hope that they would travel well beyond Japan.
Produced through specialized workshops in and around Asakusa, each lighter reflects a different approach to everyday carry: practical, design-forward, and built to be maintained rather than replaced. While disposable plastic lighters became the industry standard, Tsubota Pearl continued making refillable pieces with wick, flint, fuel, and replaceable parts.
To help keep your lighter working properly, we offer dedicated maintenance guides for the Hard Edge, Bolbo, and Queue models. These quick reference tutorials cover the essentials, including refueling, flint replacement, wick care, and basic troubleshooting, so your lighter can stay in use for years.
