Kousaido’s Natural Premium incense series is a more elevated expression of Japanese wood incense, made with tree-derived aromatic materials, wood powders, essential oils, and natural resins.

Each box includes 20 incense sticks housed in a bamboo wood case with a premium paper sleeve and foil-stamped lettering. The packaging feels more like a small keepsake than a disposable incense box, with a simple wood form that can stay out on a desk, shelf, or tray between burns.

Available in two wood-centered scents: Japanese Red Pine and Guaiac Wood. Red Pine is crisp, cooling, and subtly sweet, made with essential oil and wood powder from akamatsu trees grown in Keihoku, Kyoto. Guaiac Wood is deeper, smokier, and more resinous, with a warm woody character and subtle leathery undertones.

These are slower, more concentrated incense sticks for people who want a richer burn, a more considered package, and a stronger connection to the materials inside.

Japanese Red Pine
Crisp, cooling, and gently sweet. Made with essential oil and wood powder from Japanese red pine, or akamatsu, grown in Keihoku, Kyoto. The scent feels clean and forested, with a fresh pine clarity, soft woody warmth, and a subtle lift that makes a room feel more open.

Guaiac Wood
Deep, smoky, and resinous. Guaiac Wood has a darker profile, with warm woods, soft smoke, and leathery undertones. It has more depth and presence than the Red Pine, but still feels smooth and composed. This is Brett’s personal favorite incense currently carried by Light Provisions.

Small dark spots or glossy marks on the Guaiac Wood sticks are natural resin markings. They are part of the material character and do not indicate a quality issue.

Each scent is packed in a bamboo wood box with a premium paper sleeve and foil-stamped lettering. The format feels more permanent than standard incense packaging, making it easy to keep nearby on a tray, shelf, or desk.

Light the tip of the incense stick until it glows, then gently blow out the flame. Place in a heat-safe incense holder and allow the stick to smolder. Depending on the holder and angle, ash may fall beyond the holder itself, so we recommend using a tray or dish underneath for easier cleanup.
