Made by hand on Awaji Island, Japan, where incense craft has been refined for centuries. No. 007 offers a modern interpretation of sandalwood, built around Javanol, a fragrance molecule that captures sandalwood's creamy warmth and gentle woodiness without using the wood itself.

Richer and more expressive than traditional sandalwood incense, it unfolds with warm woods, resinous depth, and the quiet character of low-burning embers. The fragrance carries farther into a room, leaving behind a lived-in warmth that feels more like a hearth that has been burning all day than freshly cut wood. Smooth, woody, and quietly radiant, it offers a contemporary take on one of incense's most enduring materials.

As natural sandalwood becomes increasingly difficult to source due to deforestation and climate pressures, Javanol provides a more sustainable and consistent alternative while preserving the familiar warmth and character that make sandalwood so beloved.

Each IYÉ incense box is crafted to be as durable and refined as a traditional wooden case while remaining fully sustainable. The thick paperboard is made from recycled materials, including milk cartons and high-grade paper collected from homes and factories.

In Japan, beverage cartons are made from exceptionally pure pulp, often called honor paper, a phrase that reflects respect for good materials. Once the incense is finished, the labels can be removed and the box repurposed for keepsakes, matches, or regifting.
