When we pour candles, there is always a little extra. The last bit from a production run. Wax left in a pitcher. Test blends that never became part of the collection. Rather than sending it to the trash, we save it.

Over time, those remnants are collected, melted down, and poured into a new candle. The result is a fragrance that can't be replicated and a candle that helps us waste less.

No two batches smell exactly alike. Some lean woodsy, some sweeter, some brighter. The wax may come from past collections, retired fragrances, collaboration projects, seasonal releases, studio experiments, or scent blends that never made it beyond the testing stage.

Because every batch is different, we can't provide fragrance notes or guarantee a specific scent profile. What we can promise is that every Mystery Candle is made from the same quality materials used throughout the Light Provisions studio.

smells like a candle store! in the best way possible. It's very nostalgic in a strange way. Like shopping in a store in Sedona with a lot of character.

Fun to be surprised!

I bought a couple of these mystery candles and have found it delightful to light them not knowing what the scent will be. There are also layers, so the scent changes over usage. As always, Light Provision candles have natural scents that are not overpowering or synthetic, but rather refreshing and leave a nice lingering scent. What is this magic‽

The concept of mixing leftover waxes from pouring candles makes sense and there must be a little planning in the process to mix compatible scents for a good mystery scent.
I'm not sure what made up my mystery candle. It's soft and subtle enough to not give away its secrets. But the smell is pleasant and compatable with my scent tastes so it isn't a turnoff.
At any rate, sustainable and responsible are always good marks in my book.
